If you could only see what Michael and I send each other on Instagram, you’d see that it’s all just pictures of different kinds of toasts. You could say we are toast enthusiasts. But we needed to find a healthy alternative just so we won’t feel as bad when we scoop up one heaping tablespoon of Nutella into our toast. Enter sweet potatoes. They’re healthier and tastier than our regular store-brought bread. Simply bake a few slices in one baking sheet, store in the fridge, and toast them when you’re ready to go.
You see, there is no hard and fast rule for what you need to go on top for the toast. Simply check what you have in your pantry and voila, your breakfast problems are solved.
- Sweet Potatoes, sliced
- Spreads, yogurt
- Preheat oven at 400F for 15min and bake sliced sweet potatoes for 20min.
- When you are ready to eat, simply toast in the bread toaster.
- Top with your favourite spread and fruit combo.
